]]>I get so many questions about why and how I chose what to put into TAJ. Hair Products so I wanted to revisit that topic and discuss some of the other ingredients in TAJ. Hair. One of the most important aspects to improving hair health is make sure you provide the right kind of moisture to your hair to make sure it is healthy. While some may think it was sufficient to just use one type of moisturizer, I decided to take advantage of a variety of characteristics from several different oils. During my journey of formulating the current recipe of TAJ. I decided to include a mixture of Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Sesame Oil, and Black Castor Oil. I believe that this combination of oils will not only provide great moisturizing properties but also allow TAJ. Hair users to benefit from the specific unique characteristics of each oil as well.
Olive Oil is not only considered a healthy fat to ingest with food but also can be very beneficial when applied topically to your hair and scalp. Olive oil is rich in fatty acids and vitamins that help improve hair health and strengthen hair follicles. The fatty acids in Olive oil can help repair damaged hair that typically can cause split ends. Many have stated that using Olive oil in their hair helps condition the hair which adds moisture to the hair and also helps keep their hair manageable.
Coconut Oil is another ingestible Oil that can be beneficial both internally and externally on your hair and scalp. Lauric Acid is found in great concentration in Coconut Oil is one of the main reasons it’s such a great moisturizer for your hair. The lauric acid moisture to be quickly absorbed into your hair follicles. A key benefit of coconut oil its that it helps repair and heal damaged hair also fighting against split ends. Antifungal and antibacterial properties of coconut oil helps fight against dandruff and hair lice. Many appreciate the versatility of Coconut Oil because it can be used as a moisturizer, styling aid, pre-wash treatment, conditioner, and/or hair mask.
Sesame Oil is another great addition to the TAJ. Hair formulation for many reasons. First of all, it's very rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. Research on people struggling with hair loss and balding, they have noticed that these people tend to be deficient in both Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids linking the deficiency to hair loss. Another reason Sesame oil is beneficial is because it may promote hair growth by stimulating blood circulation to the scalp. A lack of blood flow and circulation to hair follicles on the scalp leads to hair loss. Sesame oil is also antifungal and antibacterial, so it also fights against dandruff and hair lice. Reducing hair fall and adding moisture back into the hair follicles is another reason many rave about this amazing product.
Black Castor Oil is a powerful moisturizer that is rich in Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids. These fatty acids promote great hair health by nourishing the scalp and strengthening the hair at the root. A natural humectant it is efficient at drawing moisture into the hair follicles which can strengthen the hair and help to repair and heal Split ends. Also, Black Castor oil may promote hair growth by improving blood flow to the scalp.
As the founder and creator of TAJ. Hair Products I take great pride in using the best ingredients that will improve, strengthen and enhance the volume of your hair. I believe regardless of the hair type we have we should all love our hair. Love is not just a feeling but most powerfully utilized as an action. ]]>When I decided to do something about my damaged hair from all the demands of Hollywood, I was determined to find the best natural substances to strengthen, rejuvenate and repair my hair. Like many people, I didn’t want to put harsh chemicals into my scalp fearing they may do more harm than good. I began to research natural herbs and oils that contained properties that would nourish hair and even regrow hair. Through many years of researching hair needs, hair care products, herbs and oils, I was able to develop a solution that was all-natural but also improved and repaired my damaged hair. Some of the key ingredients are Fenugreek, Stinging Nettle, Birch Bark, and Amla. Let’s dive into these herbs to gain a better understanding of what they are, how they affect hair and overall health.
Fenugreek is a unique herb that is found in the Mediterranean region, southern Europe and western Asia. We have been using Fenugreek since 4000 BC as a vegetable, herb and spice. The chemical properties of Fenugreek are responsible for the maple syrup-like smell. Fenugreek can be ingested or used topically. If orally ingested Fenugreek is packed with plenty of macronutrients, vitamins and minerals. For every 100g of fenugreek consumed you are getting 58 grams of carbohydrates, 6.4 grams of fat, and 23 grams of protein. Also, Fenugreek is packed with vitamins such as thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, and vitamin C. Some of the minerals found in fenugreek are calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and zinc.
Proven to be a versatile herb, fenugreek is used as a flavoring agent in foods, beverages and tobacco products. Also, some soaps and cosmetics contain fenugreek. Certain dietary supplements also contain fenugreek which some evidence shows it may help people with diabetes by lowering blood sugar, it may alleviate menstrual cramps and it may help stimulate milk production to aid in breastfeeding. It’s also possible to find fenugreek in some men’s supplements as it may boost testosterone and improve sexual function.
Fenugreek is also beneficial when used topically on the skin. Since it is a rich source of antioxidants and anti-bacterial compounds, when applied to the skin it may soothe skin irritations and reduce redness. It may also help treat burns and eczema. Fenugreek contains vitamin K and vitamin C which may help reduce blemishes and dark circles from skin. The properties of fenugreek may help tighten, firm and rejuvenate skin.
Not only has fenugreek been shown to improve skin but also improve scalp and hair as well. Some evidence suggests that topically applying fenugreek on your scalp and hair may promote hair growth and boost blood circulation to your scalp. Since fenugreek is rich in both protein and iron, this may help the herb improve hair growth. Fenugreek also contains flavonoids and saponins which may induce hair growth due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties. These anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties can also aid in reducing dry skin, excess oil, and inflammation which may improve dandruff.
I know, that was a lot of information, but I’ve done so much research about these herbs, I want you to have a good understanding as to why these were selected.
Next, we have Stinging Nettle also called Urtica Dioica. It is rich in Silica and Sulfur; it helps hair be healthier and shinier. Also, known to help hair restore its natural hair color. Stinging Nettle is a powerful antioxidant, antimicrobial herb packed with high concentrations of vitamin A, C, D, E, F, K and Vitamin B complexes. It also contains selenium, zinc, iron and magnesium. These vitamins and minerals have been known to promote healthy scalp and hair growth.
Stinging Nettle is also an effective DHT blocker that helps promote hair growth in male pattern hair loss and alopecia-induced hair loss due to high levels of DHT. Stinging nettle suppresses the activity of 5-alpha reductase, an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This is primarily beneficial for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia.
Birch Bark comes from Birch trees found in North America, Europe and Asia. People have used Birch Bark for various healing processes for several thousand years. In addition to its medicinal uses Birch trees also had many uses such as in construction, building, arts & crafts, and writing materials.
Birch Bark is a rich source of Vitamin C which helps your hair by building collagen. Collagen helps strengthen and thicken hair which will facilitate hair growth. Lupeol Betulinic Acid is also found in birch bark which helps reduce hair loss, improves Keratin (A protein that is a structural building block for hair) absorption, reduces inflammation, and inhibits bacterial growth. Properties of Birch bark also helps hair to retain moisture, fights against dandruff, and fights against premature graying of the hair.
Last up we have AMLA also known as Indian Gooseberries from the deciduous tree of the family Phyllanthaceae. AMLA is traditionally found in Southern Asia. The fruit can be consumed either raw or cooked in addition to being used topically. Amla is rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids and phytonutrients that can increase blood circulation throughout the scalp. Amla is rich in Vitamin C which gives it anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties making it an effective fighter against dandruff. The nutrients in Amla also help minimize premature graying of the hair. Iron and Carotene are key components in Amla to help promote a healthy scalp and hair growth.
Now you see why these ayurvedic herbs were selected and why we only use the highest quality ingredients in TAJ. Keep in mind I started this journey to help my hair grow back and once I attained that goal, I wanted to help others like you.
I believe in using high-quality natural ingredients that will improve, strengthen and regrow hair. As you go on this journey to healthier hair, we encourage you to proactively do your own research as well. Research the ingredients in TAJ. and any other products you use on your scalp and hair. Become a student of your hair and find out what works best for you. I am committed to providing you with great hair care products and education regarding how to treat and strengthen your hair.
